| 22.07.2011 U18 MEN DIVISION B Montenegro, Bulgaria and Sweden all collected convincing victories in the first day of action at the U18 European Championship Division B Men.
Marko Mugosa scored 21 points and Danilo Nikolic had a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds as Montenegro blasted Austria 97-38 in Group C.
The other game in Group C saw Romania beat the Netherlands 66-65 with Andrei Petica scoring 24 points and Alexandru Olah had 19 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and four blocks.
Bulgaria blasted past Luxembourg in Group A with Pavlin Ivanov scoring 22 points and Tencho Tenchev had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Peter Jakab and Adam Kovacs each scored 12 points in Hungary's 69-41 victory over Georgia in the other Group A encounter.
In Group D, Tobias Borg had 18 points and Niklas Larsson collected 16 points, six rebounds and four assists while Jesper Eliasson had 11 points and 16 rebounds in Sweden's 90-50 win over Norway.
Boris Bojanovsky collected 34 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks in guiding Slovakia to an 87-83 win over Switzerland in the other Group D game.
In Group B, Simeon Esprit scored with 31 seconds left to secure England a 65-63 win over Estonia, with Rowell Anton Graham hitting for 12 points.
The other Group B contest also was a thriller with Rienert Torreele hitting a shot with four seconds remaining to give Belgium a 59-57 win over Portugal as Dorian Marchant had 13 points. |
